Original Summary

As the title suggests. I built a family app for myself, started before chatgpt launched, wrote tons of code, and earlier this year used agents to add more stuff I never found time to add. Everything inside solves our family's pain points. I've been using it everyday since the start, so stuff like tracking tasks (cleaning, washing, vacuuming, nasal spray timings), meals, coffee (tweaking the ratios, grind size, pour routines, new bags of beans/roasters), gym, expiry dates, illnesses, subscriptions, prices, or just things relating to moments my son surprised us (what facebook was originally tbh). These were stuff we always saved as telegram messages or google keep notes that always got lost. So now I've got a substantial (imo) app that grew pain point by pain point, and I'm wondering what's next? To be clear, I'm not looking for affirmation, I'm very familiar with the tons of "I built xyz..." posts in /r/webdev . And this isn't some startup idea, neither am I interested in one because I'm in a job I love and there's a lot of growth all around. I've been wondering for a few months though, is there any point in opening this up to more people/users? I could post it somewhere more relevant. Parenting subreddit maybe? Would anyone even want this? But then what? If people actually want it, they might reasonably want things I can't or just don't want to build. So I'm looking for people with similar experience. If you ended up here before, what did you do? Generalise it and let other people use it? Keep happily building for myself? Write about it? Call it a successful side project and that's that? submitted by /u/darknezx [link] [comments]
