Background: I'm a non-developer in Seoul. I read a lot and I hate book clubs. But every time I underline a sentence I want to know if anyone else stopped at the same line. No app did that, so I built one. It's called rlog (reading log). The idea is simple. You log the page you're on and leave a short note. Your note reaches other people reading the same book, and theirs reach you. Spoiler protection is automatic: you only see notes up to the page you've logged. No names, no profile photos, no followers. You're a random HEX color. Nobody wants to be seen. When I asked about adding profile pictures the answer was a hard no. The anonymous color thing stayed. Translating notes automatically (Korean, Japanese, Chinese, English) was the thing that made me think this could work outside Korea. Same book, different countries, one thread. Revenue is basically zero but users don't hate the app, which I decided matters more right now.
