Original Summary
Most directory boards and launch platforms feel exactly the same. You pay a fee or post at midnight, get buried under fifty other generic SaaS tools within twelve hours, and end up with a handful of clicks. The banner blindness is real, and traditional lists just don't capture attention anymore. I wanted to build something more interactive and gamified for builders to get visual real estate. I ended up building Moonstake.org , which lets you claim a physical pin and plant a flag for your startup on an interactive map of the Moon using actual NASA photography. Instead of a static list, users can explore the surface, zoom in on sectors, and track their views and click-throughs directly on their claimed pin. Vacant spots start at $1 to keep the barrier low for side projects, and there is a secondary offer system if someone wants to buy a high-traffic spot from another builder. It has been a fun experiment in trying to make digital advertising feel more like a web game. For those of you launching side projects, how are you handling early discovery? Do you still rely on standard directory sites, or are you looking for more creative, visual ways to get eyes on your build? submitted by /u/KeyProject2897 [link] [comments]
