Original Summary
I've been talking to bootstrapped founders about their GTM for three months, and I noticed a pattern that nobody talks about. The ones stalling at their current revenue aren't failing because their GTM strategy is bad. They're failing because they can't see what's working. Consider what happens in a typical scenario when a founder ships a feature on Monday, mentions it in their community on Tuesday, gets three signups Wednesday, forgets what worked, and never repeats it. By next month, they can't remember which channel their best customers came from. GTM doesn't fail because the strategy is wrong. It fails because there's no visibility into what's actually working, so the founder can't reinforce it. Then the founder hires tools to solve it. The founder installs a scheduler, an email platform, and a CMS. But each tool lives in its own dashboard, so instead of getting visibility, the founder now has to log into five places to piece together what happened. Code has outputs, and marketing has dashboards. But nobody sees the thread connecting your marketing effort to a customer's decision to sign up. That's also why so many founders end up doing marketing themselves instead of delegating. They're not trying to protect the company. They're trying to preserve the visibility into what's working. A solo founder can see which GitHub issue they fixed and which customer it unblocked. That visibility is automatic for code. It shouldn't require a PhD in analytics to see the same visibility for GTM. Once you have that visibility, the rest is easy. Delegate or automate, document what works, reinforce it, and revenue moves forward. That's where I'm headed with MarketSquad. It's autonomous GTM with visibility built in. So a founder can see exactly what the agent ran, what moved the needle, and what didn't. Budget safety gates included so the agent never spends outside your boundary. Would be curious what you've seen in your own GTM that got invisible and sank. submitted by /u/swe666 [link] [comments]
