Original Summary
Every budgeting app wanted my bank credentials or an aggregator in the middle. I didn't want either, so I spent months building KOWA: you export your statement from your bank's website (CSV, Excel or PDF) and it does the rest. It detects around 106 bank formats, categorises with rules and your own history first, and only asks an AI about merchants it has never seen, with account numbers and personal details masked before anything leaves the server. It's deliberately boring about privacy: no cookies, no trackers, EU hosting, GDPR export and delete actually implemented. Free plan for manual tracking; the paid plan (4.99 EUR/month) covers the AI costs of statement import. It's live at kowa.es (English, Spanish and Dutch). First paying user exists, and it's me. Would love honest feedback, especially on the landing page. What would make you switch from whatever you use now? submitted by /u/kowa_es [link] [comments]
