I’ve been working on a Chrome extension called History Companion. The original problem was pretty simple: I kept too many tabs open because I didn’t want to lose useful pages or forget how I got to them. So I built something that records browsing as visual trees instead of a flat history list. It also lets you save text, links, images, notes, checkpoints and useful branches. For most of development I always knew what to work on next because I was solving my own problems. Now it works pretty well for me, and that has created a different problem: I can think of plenty of things to add, but I have no idea which of them would actually matter to other people. So I’m looking for the kind of feedback people normally don’t leave. If you try it and immediately dislike something, tell me. If something is confusing, tell me. If you think the whole idea is unnecessary, I’d like to know why too.
