Original Summary
Like a lot of people I've been making thumbnails and playlist covers with AI. Getting a first image is easy but editing it is where it falls apart. I'd get something I liked, ask to change one small thing, and get back a completely different picture: new face, new background, new lighting. So I wrote down the steps I'd been doing by hand to keep that from happening (what to lock, what to change, how to word it so the model doesn't repaint the whole frame) and turned it into a plain-text bundle. You paste it into ChatGPT or Claude and it writes the prompt for you and it works out what to keep vs change and hands you one block to paste into your image generator. No install, no API, nothing to sign up for. The clearest example: I gave it a street photo and said "add falling snow." It added the snow and left the houses, the road, the parked vans while everything else stayed exactly as they were. Most tools would hand you a whole new street. (Before/afters are right at the top of the repo if you want to see them.) It's free and takes about a minute to try: https://github.com/leewilliam200/visual-director-lite There's a paid version with the deeper editing tools, but the free one shows the whole idea. Would genuinely love feedback, especially if you can break the "keep everything else the same" part. What's the one thing you'd want it to preserve on an edit that AI tools always wreck? submitted by /u/AbbreviationsLeast35 [link] [comments]
