Original Summary
I've published a saas around a problem I hit by myself, but then discovered that many others had encountered it. Given that I'm a senior dev with a lot of experience in the backend, I decided to build a dashboard around a couple of projects I already had running for a year internally. Sent a couple of posts here on Reddit, replied to users having the problem my product solves, etc. After a week, I've already replied to many support requests and talked with a guy from Vietnam building a nice product who wanted to know a couple of things about my service. Now, as a developer, I'm tempted to add features, even if no one asked for them, and I know it's not the right move. Everyone here says that one should talk with the clients, ask what they used before using your product, what their most wanted feature is, etc., etc. But it's a real pain: it requires a lot of time. Among 61 users, 30 are actually using it these days, 0 paying; all are far from the limits of the free plan. The stats appear encouraging to me; I need to figure out what to do next: - Just keep posting and replying to questions users post about the problem I solve - Spend money on ads, here or on X/Google/etc - Use other channels like AppSumo; does anyone have experience with it? - ProductHunt? It seems too early to publish there, agree?
