Original Summary
Two weeks ago I pushed my Mac app (Kekoso, on-device dictation and transcription, nothing leaves the machine) through 40+ launch platforms and directories in three days. I did not fill the forms by hand: I gave the list to Claude Code together with the app description, screenshots and a demo link, and it went through the forms one by one while I checked the results. Sharing the list because I could not find a current one when I started, and half of what I did find was out of date. Launch platforms: Product Hunt, Hacker News (Show HN), Indie Hackers, DevHunt, Open Launch (12 EUR, took #1 of the day), LaunchIgniter ($15), Turbo0 ($17), OpenHunts ($10), PeerPush, FoundrList, Launching Next, NextGen Tools, Future Tools. Mac download sites: MacUpdate, Softpedia, CNET Download, Software Informer, Uptodown, FileHorse, Mac Menu Bar, MacSources. Alternatives and reviews: AlternativeTo ($5 for priority review), SaaSHub, AlternativeMe, GoodFirms, Trustpilot, SourceForge, Crunchbase. AI tool catalogs: AI Tools Directory, BestofAI, AiTools. What I learned checking 115 of them. Free dofollow links with no strings attached are almost gone: out of 115 I found two. Everyone else wants a badge on your site, $10 to $50, or a queue that runs into 2027. Half of the "free" tiers listed in roundups from February do not exist anymore. Many directories are networks. Same submission form word for word, same footer links. One listing there gives you one link, not five. None of this brings traffic. It builds a backlink profile that helps search rankings months later. If you need users this week, this is not it. Full table with domain rating, link type and current price is in the first comment. submitted by /u/EngineeringOver9487 [link] [comments]
