Original Summary
I've been building Flick for a while now, and I've shared different versions of it around Reddit along the way. That turned out to be one of the better decisions I've made with it. I've gotten a lot of good feedback from people here and in other communities. Some of it was about features, but a lot of it was the smaller stuff you stop noticing when you've stared at the same app for hundreds of hours. A screen that felt obvious to me wasn't obvious at all. Something took one tap too many. Part of the app felt disconnected from everything else. Sometimes someone would point something out and I'd immediately know they were right. So I'd change it. Then change something else. Then somehow end up redoing half the UI because of that one change. I've probably rebuilt parts of Flick more times than was reasonable at this point. But somewhere along the way it stopped feeling like a project where I immediately wanted to explain what was still wrong with it. There's still plenty I want to change and add, but I'm finally at a point where I'm genuinely happy with the direction it's taken. It's strange looking back at some of the earlier versions now because the basic idea is still the same, but almost everything around it has changed little by little. I'm definitely not done with it. But it finally feels much closer to the app I had in my head when I started building it. And Reddit honestly played a pretty big part in getting it there. If anyone wants to have a look, Flick is on Google Play submitted by /u/UnableBunch4470 [link] [comments]
