Disclosure up front: I work at Ingro Energy and this is our tool. I'm not here to sell it — I want people to break it. Context: I work on battery storage and EMS in India. When someone sizes a commercial solar + battery system here, they usually either build a spreadsheet that assumes a flat ₹/kWh tariff, or use an international tool where you'd have to hand-build the Indian tariff structure, banking rules and open-access charges yourself. Either way the payback number at the top of the proposal is mostly guesswork. Three things we had to model that generic calculators skip: Time-of-day slabs and demand charges, not a flat unit rate.
