Solo dev from Germany. Omegle died in 2023 and everything that replaced it looks like 2010 with ads on top, so I started building my own - chatk.ing . It works, I just haven't opened it yet. Random video chat with nobody in it isn't random video chat, it's a waiting room. So I'm collecting emails first to see if enough people show up for evenings to actually work. First 100 get a week of VIP free at launch. What's in it: press a button, few seconds, stranger's face, talk or skip. No profile, no real name, 18+. No ads, basic is free, country and gender filters cost a few euros which pays for servers. Moderation runs on my own hardware, the filter for illegal stuff can't be turned off, and that part took longer than the video itself. Also there is a campus mode: v
