Viperix: Snake Arena. Android, went live on Google Play last week. Built solo over about a year, no game engine: I wrote the OpenGL ES renderer and the audio engine myself in Kotlin. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.viperix.game It is a circular slither-style arena. You grow by eating what is left when someone crashes. 20 named bots that play their own game instead of homing straight at you. Power-ups, and gold coins that buy 132 skins across 11 themes, one of which trails toxic gas that pushes rivals away. 24 languages. Offline: no ads, no IAP, no accounts, no networking code. The technical bit I am happiest with: there is not one audio file in the APK. No .ogg, no .wav. The music and every sound effect are synthesised at runtime - oscillators, ADSR envelopes, a state-variable filter. That also means the soundtrack can follow what is happening on screen without crossfading anything. Release build on a Redmi with a Mali-G57, n=121: 60.02 FPS average, 17.01 ms p50 frame, 17.59 ms worst delivered frame, 142.6 MB PSS, 927 ms cold start. What I already know is wrong: two people played it last week and independently said the same thing. Power-ups spawn too often and hit too hard, and the bots do not fight back enough. One of them chained power-ups to the top of the leaderboard in a single short run. That is fair and I am working on it. It is a paid app, so here are five promo codes.
