I just read a post in this sub complaining about others posting AI slop. And fair enough, it's exhausting. But also: I say bring it on. I am "vibe coding" (not really, but also yes) an app myself, and its generic af. Basically a strongly simplified SAP clone. It would 100% count as AI slop in the eyes of that angry poster, but the reality is: It taught me a boatload of things about security, deployment strategies, Cloud computing, networking, cost optimisation, performance optimisation, and data governance (like data separation, and data residency). Had I focused on finding the next magical product market fit or polishing my app to not look like AI slop, I would not have been able to learn this in 10 more years probably because I'd never reach those depths. Since this is a generic idea though, I can finally focus on the "fun" engineering challenges: How do I separate tenants? what legal considerations do I need to take into account for RBAC security and RLS? how do I correctly deploy databases across Europe and Asia to find a compromise between latency, usability, maintinability, cost and 20 other constraints? how do I correctly setup a deployment pipeline and Kubernetes clusters? There is SO MUCH to learn even for the simplest of projects, I honestly dont get the outrage. You start at learning how to walk, before you dance Salsa or Tango, or run a marathon.
