Original Summary
15 years coaching in NYC, about 40 sessions a week. The training itself was never the problem. The problem was what happened after the last client left. Every night, two-plus hours: retyping a program I'd already written on paper into a dashboard, moving a 6am to a 7am because someone's flight changed, refunding a session credit, working out which four people hadn't checked in that week. None of it is coaching. All of it is clicking. I tried everything in the category. Trainerize, TrueCoach, Everfit, CoachRX. They're all fine, and they all have the same shape: a beautifully organised set of forms that you, the human, fill in. The admin doesn't go away, it just gets a nicer interface. So I built R1SE (r1setraining.com). The part I actually care about is the agent. You talk to it instead of clicking. "Move Sarah's 6am to 7am Thursday." "Build this block, 5x3 back squat at RPE 8." "Who's missed two check-ins?" It does the thing and shows you what it did. Anything with consequences asks first, everything has one-click undo, and it never messages a client on its own. That part isn't automatable and shouldn't be. My own admin went from about 2 hours a night to 15 minutes a week. Three things that surprised me building it: The hard part wasn't the AI, it was the undo. Every action had to be reversible before I trusted it with a real client's schedule, and that turned out to be most of the engineering. Coaches don't want AI to write programs. I assumed they would. Almost everyone wants to write their own and just hates typing it in. Pointing AI at programming is solving a problem nobody has, and most of the category is doing exactly that. Three months post-launch and the biggest objection is still "will it message my clients without me knowing." The answer is no, but I've had to design visibly around that fear instead of just saying it. Happy to answer anything about the build, the category, or why a trainer ended up doing this. And if you coach anyone, even one person, I'd like you to try and break it. submitted by /u/r1setraining [link] [comments]
