Original Summary
Building a SaaS that accepts photos, and HEIC/HEIF uploads from iPhones are becoming a pain point. I can handle 12/24 MP HEIC through Cloudflare Images, but on Workers Free the CPU time is too high. Browser-side HEIC decoding also becomes risky on mobile because of memory usage. How do you handle HEIC uploads in production? rely on iOS converting Photos to JPEG via the file picker? Cloudflare/Cloudinary? server-side native libheif/libvips? just reject raw HEIC? Curious what has worked reliably for you, especially with 24/48 MP iPhone photos. submitted by /u/marco_polo0106 [link] [comments]
