Original Summary

I'm a solo dev. My app turns an Android phone into a windshield head-up display: you lay the phone flat on the dash and the glass reflects your speed and next turn. What surprised me building it: At night it looks great. In bright sun the reflection washes out, and no software fixes that. Most windshields are two layers of glass, so you can get a faint double image. A phone in direct sun under the windshield gets hot fast. I wrote up the physics (at 90 km/h a 2-second glance is 50 m driven blind) and the honest limits here: https://medium.com/@burakaticioglu/phone-hud-app-for-android-turning-your-phone-into-a-windshield-hud-what-works-and-what-doesnt-68a55f20b1e6?postPublishedType=initial Free to download; PRO adds unlimited routes and speed limits. Happy to answer anything, especially from people who've tried phone HUDs before. submitted by /u/Strong_Commission485 [link] [comments]
