Original Summary
I wanted to make my book collection into a bit of art work and this is where I ended up with it. I made a website that anyone can use to do the same. You scan your shelves with your phone, or upload Kindle/Audible screenshots or a Goodreads CSV, and it grows your library like a cell culture. Each book is a patch of cells, coloured by genre. You can regroup it by author, decade, colour, shelf, length or format, and it suggests books you don't own around the edges. You can add your cluster to a shared universe, but that’s optional. If you prefer you can keep it private. There's also a feature that makes a social media sized sharing image so you can show off how much of a fancy book nerd you are on instagram (if you're that way inclined). There's a scan limit per user per month and max book limit (500, so a fair amount) but apart from that it's free, I managed to get about 120 books in 3 scans, and kindle and audible way more per scan. CSV upload is totally free as is adding by hand or barcode. Would love to know what people think: readshift.co.uk submitted by /u/Ramillionquay [link] [comments]
