I’m a Data Engineer who decided to take the leap and build my own SaaS. Unfortunately, I had to shut it down a few days ago. Now I want to embark on a new adventure, but I’m struggling to decide which direction to take, so I’d really appreciate your feedback. I have these 3 ideas, but I don’t know if any of them are actually good: 1. Data-driven CRM / Marketing Analytics SaaS Connect your CRM, databases and files. We analyse your leads, conversions and other business data to help you understand where to double down and where you should stop spending money. 2. Secure AI API Gateway An API that sits between your application and LLM APIs like ChatGPT, Perplexity or Gemini, securing and controlling the calls while helping with legal compliance, sensitive-data removal, tokenization, etc. 3. Data → AI Agents SaaS A dashboard where you upload/connect your data and, after an ETL process, get it structured, cleaned and ready to be consumed directly by AI Agents __________ My biggest pain right now is figuring out how to adapt one of these ideas to a specific micro-niche instead of building another generic SaaS.
