Original Summary
I keep a dataset of AI businesses whose MRR comes straight from Stripe or RevenueCat (via TrustMRR), not screenshots or tweets. 46 right now, all re-checked Oct 14–19. While cleaning it up I noticed that 6 of those listings have stopped syncing. TrustMRR says the Stripe key expired, and their last data is from anywhere between Feb 5 and Aug 14, 2026. The old number just sits there. What that does to a "top AI startups by MRR" ranking: - All 6 are AI SaaS. No apps, agencies or info products. - They're 13% of the listings but $1.61M of the $3.36M combined MRR (48%). - The #1 and #2 businesses by MRR are both stale, and so are 4 of the top 10. - Median MRR: $32,676 with everything (n=46), $24,913 with fresh syncs only (n=40). About 24% lower. - AI SaaS alone: $43,582 (n=25) vs $36,815 (n=19). - Mean: ~$73k vs ~$44k. To be fair, stale doesn't mean wrong. Those businesses could be bigger now, or smaller. You just can't tell from a frozen number, and a list sorted by MRR treats it like today's. What I changed: stale listings now carry a "stale" label with their last sync date, and I report medians both ways. If you're quoting someone's "verified MRR" (or showing off your own), check when it last synced. Does anyone have a better rule for when a number is too old to count? submitted by /u/Healthy-Employer5824 [link] [comments]
