Original Summary
I'm the developer, and I've been using this side project for about a month. DeadlineFloat is a Mac app that keeps my Google Calendar in view without opening anything. It's a thin bar on the screen edge: the day top to bottom, events as coloured blocks, a red line for now. When I rest the pointer on it, the bar stretches open into what's due and a calendar for the day or the week. I swipe tasks done (that stays on my Mac), and if I turn it on I can drag an event to move it. I built it with a lot of help from AI coding tools. Two parts of launching it: Google sign-in verification. Google's branding check rejected free shared domains like github.io and vercel.app. I haven't confirmed approval yet, so for now sign-in may show a "Google hasn't verified this app" screen, and Google caps how many accounts can connect. Selling it without an app store. Stripe takes the payment, and two small serverless functions hand out and check license keys. The app sends the key there about once a week; the calendar itself only goes between the Mac and Google. It's native Swift, macOS 14+, Apple silicon and Intel, signed and notarized. 7 days free with no card, then $3.99/month, $19.99/year, or $29 lifetime. I'd really like blunt feedback on two things: does the landing page make it clear what the app does before you scroll far, and does the pricing feel right for a small utility? https://deadlinefloat.vercel.app submitted by /u/Ill_Self_1051 [link] [comments]
