Original Summary
I kept wanting my AI assistant, and myself from the terminal, to actually do things on sites that don't have a real API, and I was sick of writing throwaway scrapers every time. So I spent the last couple of weeks on hycli. You give it a URL and say what you want. It pokes around the site (SSR state, documented routes, any JSON endpoints it can find) and generates typed CLI commands plus MCP tools for the actions it could actually verify. The part that took the most effort was auth: it pulls your existing logged-in session out of your browser profile into a local encrypted vault, so calls go out as you and the model never touches your credentials. Writes sit behind a per-site approval so an agent can't quietly nuke something. One binary (engine, local dashboard, CLI, MCP server), Rust, Apache-2.0. It's v0.1.0 and rough in a few places. I put it in front of a Korean dev community last week and it did way better than I expected (about 300 stars in a day), which is what pushed me to share it wider. Repo: https://github.com/Hybirdss/Hycli Curious whether the core idea is actually useful to anyone, or if it's a problem only I have. submitted by /u/PatientEither6390 [link] [comments]
