Original Summary
I’ve been fascinated by integrated circuit design since I took a VLSI class in my senior year of my computer engineering degree. Virtuoso from Cadance was a lot of fun to work with but given the price of it being nearly a years worth of salary, I decided to start working on an open source tool in June/July. that’s OpenChippy. it’s not super polished but it does some pretty cool stuff for where it’s at. OpenChippy is fully open sourced and open to contributors. No accounts, no licensing, no subscription, just free. alpha prerelease comes with an arm64 build for MacOS. you’ll need to do a few extra steps because it’s not signed or whatever for Apple. that said, you can build the source and run it on MacOS, Linux, and even Windows 11. submitted by /u/TheRealNotUBRz [link] [comments]
