Original Summary

i am a solo founder from India. i built a monitoring tool (uptime, status pages, cron jobs, logs, errors) and this year i sent around 700 personal cold emails to small SaaS companies. result: 0 signups. not even 1 what i think went wrong nobody wakes up wanting a new monitoring tool. they already have one that works well enough "cheaper and more features" is not a reason to switch. switching takes time and the old tool is not broken a cold email from an unknown solo founder about something that handles their alerts is a trust problem. i would not trust it either i wrote about my product, not their problem what im doing now answering questions in threads where people are actually looking for help, with the product only as a side note making switching quick with importers from the tools people already use a free plan that is actually useful (20 monitors, ok for business) so trying it costs nothing locking the price for early users 8 users so far, 0 paying. if you got your first paying users without ads, what actually worked for you? submitted by /u/Independent-Pack3931 [link] [comments]
