I'm looking for an experienced website designer/developer to help bring my vision to life! I'm based in Queensland, Australia, and currently in the process of launching an independent publishing business specialising in luxury special-edition books, primarily within the dark romance, horror and thriller genres. I'm looking for someone who has extensive experience building professional, visually impressive e-commerce websites, ideally with experience in the book industry or subscription-based businesses. What I'm looking for: - A unique, custom-designed website with a dark, gothic, cathedral-inspired aesthetic. Think black, white, grey, gothic architecture, and an elegant, luxurious feel. - An online store where customers can purchase special-edition books, merchandise and other products. - A subscription system where customers can sign up for recurring book subscriptions. - A waitlist feature allowing customers to register their email addresses and receive automated notifications when subscriptions become available. - The ability to offer pre-orders and manage upcoming book releases. - Email marketing integration and automated customer communications. - A professional, user-friendly website that works seamlessly on both desktop and mobile. - A backend that is easy for me to manage and update as the business grows. For an idea of the functionality and overall standard I'm looking for, websites such as Bookish & Spice and Twisted Fiction are good references, although I have my own specific aesthetic and vision. I'm not looking for a basic template website or a quick build. I want someone who is genuinely experienced, creative, detail-oriented and capable of creating a website that feels unique to my brand. I'm also not interested in using Shopify, so experience with alternative e-commerce platforms is essential. Please note: I will only consider designers/developers who can provide a registered ABN and/or genuine, verifiable client reviews, along with examples of previous work. Unfortunately, there are far too many people taking advantage of small business owners, and I'm not interested in risking my money on someone who cannot demonstrate their credibility and experience.
