Original Summary

I've been building CoopCheck, a free, no-signup site for people planning a backyard chicken coop. I'm looking for honest feedback from people who actually keep chickens or are choosing their first coop, not just developer praise. The problem: prefab coops often advertise a bird capacity, but shoppers need to compare actual indoor floor area and enclosed run space separately. I built a dimension and flock-size checker to make those tradeoffs clearer. If you have a coop or are shopping for one, could you test real dimensions and tell me where the result is confusing? https://coopcheck.serunio.com/guides/prefab-chicken-coop-capacity-checker.html?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=community&utm_campaign=first_users_oct26&utm_content=sideproject I'd especially like feedback on: (1) indoor vs. run area, (2) what else you need before buying, and (3) whether an optional printable planning checklist would help. It's a sizing aid, NOT build-ready blueprints, a safety certification, or a permit approval. I'm the person working on this project. The checker is free and requires no account, payment, or email. If it doesn't solve a real problem, please tell me that too. submitted by /u/According_Banana221 [link] [comments]
