Original Summary

I'm a young solo founder, and I've been working on my first serious software business for several months. I've gotten to the point where the product is built, the website is live, and the core functionality is working. It's a privacy-focused commenting platform for publishers and website owners who want an alternative to existing commenting services. But I'm struggling with the part I underestimated most: getting people to actually use it. I've reached out to more than 50 publishers and website owners. Almost nobody has responded. The website gets a little traffic, but I haven't gotten any meaningful signups or installations from other websites. I've tried improving the product, working on the website, and figuring out where my target audience spends time online. But I'm starting to realize that building something useful and getting people to care about it are two completely different challenges. I'm not posting this to promote my product, and I'm not including a link. I'm genuinely looking for advice from people who have been through this stage. For those of you who have built a SaaS product from scratch: How did you get your first 1–5 real users? Not website visitors, but people who actually used your product. If direct outreach didn't work, what did you try instead? How did you figure out whether the problem was your marketing, your target audience, or the product itself? If you were starting over with almost no budget, what would you do differently? I'm trying to learn from people who have actually experienced this stage, especially founders who started without an audience, funding, or an existing network. I'd genuinely appreciate any honest advice, including hard truths. I want to learn what I'm doing wrong and find a better way forward. submitted by /u/Tiny-Lead-4273 [link] [comments]
