Original Summary
I'm learning programming from a course where every lesson is a long recorded video. I kept rewatching them just to find "where did he explain X", so I built a tool for myself. Lecture Studio takes a lecture or screencast and: - cuts out the silence (audio and video are cut on the same frames, so they never drift apart) - transcribes it with Whisper on your own machine - writes short notes where every point has a clickable [MM:SS] timecode that jumps to that moment in the video - lets you ask questions about one lesson or the whole course, and the answer links straight to the right moment It can run fully local (Whisper + Ollama), so nothing leaves your computer. Cloud models (DeepSeek, Gemini, OpenAI, Claude) are optional. macOS and Windows, open source (MIT). It's an alpha: works for my daily use, but Windows is tested on one machine only, so expect rough edges.
