Original Summary
Hey everyone! I've been building pipaya , an open-source, self-hosted AI coding agent, and I'd love to get some feedback from other developers. The idea is to have an AI coding agent that runs on your own machine or server, connects to the LLM provider of your choice, and can be accessed from different devices. What it can do: Connect to hosted LLM APIs or local inference servers like Ollama, LM Studio, llama.cpp, and vLLM Read, edit, and manage files, and execute shell commands through agent tools Use configurable approval policies to control what the agent can do Access the same conversations across desktop, mobile, and web clients Run multiple sessions and delegate work between them Extend its behavior with skills, templates, sub-agents, and custom extensions It's licensed under AGPL-3.0, and you can run it on your own infrastructure. GitHub: https://github.com/dohwi/pipaya I'd especially appreciate feedback from people who use AI coding agents or run their own LLMs. What features would you want to see in a self-hosted coding agent? I'm also interested in hearing about any rough edges you run into while trying it out. Thanks for checking it out! submitted by /u/dohvvi [link] [comments]
