Original Summary
I've been using coding agents for my own job search, and eventually ended up with something a lot bigger than a CV generator. It's called Career Space . The idea is pretty simple: your career is more than a resume, and you shouldn't have to explain your entire professional history to an AI every time you apply for another job. You give it your existing CVs, notes, projects and career history. It reads through them, asks questions, and helps you figure out which roles actually make sense for you. Then you can use that same context to: Generate tailored CVs and cover letters. Explore career directions and positioning. Collect vacancies and evaluate how well they fit. Track applications and correspondence on a board. Build or update your public professional profiles. The interesting part is how it works. There's no dedicated AI service behind it. You run it through Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or Gemini CLI. They all work with the same local files, so you can switch agents without rebuilding your context. I also tried to keep the architecture sensible: regular code handles fetching, scoring, records and document rendering. Agents handle interpretation, interviews and writing. And there are explicit rules against inventing experience. If you contributed to a project, the AI doesn't get to claim you led it. Your career files stay local and outside Git. No separate Career Space subscription or hosted account, although your AI provider's own data policies still apply. I've been using it myself, and recently put together a proper landing page with examples and setup instructions. It's open source: https://career.eggs.gd/ I'd be particularly interested in feedback from people already using coding agents. Would you rather have a system like this inside your existing agent workflow, or a standalone app with its own interface? submitted by /u/Dukobpa3 [link] [comments]
