Original Summary
I self-host a few things for my family and a small association. Every dashboard I tried was built for whoever runs the server, with widgets and a Docker socket, when the people using my services were asking me two things: where is it, and is it working. So I wrote cairn. You give it one YAML file, it serves a static page in as many languages as you declare, and each service can carry a live status pill read from your own Gatus or Uptime Kuma. No accounts, no database, no outbound requests. One Go binary in a FROM scratch image, about 4 MB to pull. Three months in: 47 releases, 89 stars, 591 tests at 89% coverage, and listings on selfh.st and Portainer. Demo, with one service left dead so you can see a red pill: https://cairn.libresoftware.cloud Source, GPL-3.0: https://github.com/MorganKryze/cairn The feedback I want is narrow. Open the demo cold, before reading anything here, and tell me in one line what you think the page is for. If your line doesn't match mine, the page is the problem. I have been staring at it since July and I cannot see it anymore. submitted by /u/Own-Maximum-2195 [link] [comments]
