Original Summary

I've been thinking about something that keeps happening whenever I work with different AI tools. Let's say you've spent hours working on a project in ChatGPT or Claude. The AI already understands your idea, requirements, decisions, and where you're headed. Then you switch to another AI tool, maybe Codex for development or Higgsfield for generating visuals. Suddenly, you're starting from scratch. You have to explain the project again, rewrite prompts, and hope the new AI understands everything correctly. Sure, you can copy-paste conversations, but that gets messy, especially with larger projects. So I'm exploring an idea called Contexfer . The concept is pretty simple: Your context should move with you, even when you switch AI tools. Imagine being able to: Transfer project context from one AI model to another without starting over. Move conversations between AI assistants or agents. Preserve important decisions, requirements, and project progress. Generate structured context that another AI can understand without reading hundreds of messages. The idea isn't to build another chatbot. It's to create a bridge between the AI tools we already use. We're still exploring the concept, and before spending months building something, I'd rather find out whether this is a problem people actually experience. A few questions: Have you ever struggled to transfer context between AI tools? How do you currently handle it? Copy-paste, Markdown files, custom prompts, or something else? Would you genuinely use a tool like this, or do existing solutions already work well enough? And if you think this is a terrible idea, I'd actually love to hear why. I'm not trying to sell anything. Just trying to figure out whether this problem is worth solving before going too deep into development. Curious to hear your experiences. submitted by /u/Disastrous-Drive-831 [link] [comments]
