I got tired of pasting things into ChatGPT and wondering where they actually go, whether it was a document that wasn't really mine to upload, or just a conversation I didn't want to sit on someone else's server. So, I've been building Zero Witness. Instead of sending your conversation to a server, the model runs right in your browser using WebGPU. That means the chat itself, not just any documents you bring into it, never goes anywhere else. No account needed. It's rough in places, but it does a couple things I haven't seen elsewhere. You can work with local documents as a "project" without uploading them, and there's a workspace mode I added after a friend, a paralegal, mentioned she'd never be allowed to put client files into a normal AI tool. Is it obvious in the first 30 seconds this isn't just another ChatGPT wrapper? What's missing that would make you keep using it instead of going back to what you use now?
