Original Summary
Getting people to notice a new game has been harder than building a lot of the features inside it. We’ve been working on GridzyPals, a competitive word game, and recently built two daily video series around it. The daily puzzles are already getting a lot of organic views for us, so we thought the setup might interest other people here. Every day at noon Eastern, a short awards recap goes out using actual results from the previous day. It features the worldwide Daily winners across three board sizes, a longest word and who found it, and the most active player. Player names and avatars come from the game, so there’s a personal reason to check the recap and share it if you made it in. Then at 4:20pm Eastern, we publish a separate word challenge. One clue, one answer, and a letter grid where you can trace the word through neighboring tiles. People can solve it while scrolling, comment their guess, and find the answer in the next day’s caption. No download needed to participate. That second series has been encouraging. It gives people something to actually do on our pages, and a puzzle they can send to a friend. We’re still figuring out how much of the attention turns into players, so we wouldn’t call it a solved marketing strategy yet lol. The process runs automatically through our server and Metricool, publishing to Instagram, TikTok, Facebook and X. The recaps use real game data, while the puzzles come from a reviewed bank with checks that each answer has exactly one valid path through its grid. Getting it reliable took some work. Yesterday’s results and today’s puzzle need different date handling. And “scheduled successfully” doesn’t mean “published successfully.” We now check the actual outcome on each platform and prevent retries from creating duplicate posts. Here’s one of the puzzles: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DekYLYOlRyQ/ Sample of the game's daily recap: https://www.instagram.com/p/Demf59mFD0U/ Has anyone else built recurring content around what their product actually does? Curious whether it helped bring people back, or mostly generated views. submitted by /u/EmbarrassedExpert158 [link] [comments]
