Original Summary
couple days ago I posted about finally getting play store production access for my first app. a few people asked what it actually does, so here it is. my phone kept telling me I spent 3 hours on social apps. that number never bothered me. what bothered me was realising I'd watched 200 reels in one day and couldn't remember a single one. ScrollIQ counts the individual reels/shorts you watch on youtube, instagram, facebook and snapchat spotlight. not minutes, actual videos. it uses an android accessibility service that only looks at the layout of the short video feed to notice "new reel appeared". it skips ads, doesn't read messages, everything runs on device. you can turn it off whenever. then it turns your day into a brain score out of 100 and you can compete with friends on a leaderboard or do a 7 day detox. willpower never worked for me, making it a dumb competition with friends kind of did. snapchat was the worst part to build. the ids I saw in uiautomator dump just weren't there in the live accessibility tree, took me days to figure out the debug tool was the problem and not my code. flutter + kotlin, built solo, android only for now. tiktok isn't supported yet, it's next. it's rough in places so tell me what breaks, that's more useful to me than "nice app". submitted by /u/yadav_patle [link] [comments]
