Original Summary
I bought an 8000 Hz mouse last month, but the only proof was a number on the spec page. So I built a page that tests the peripherals right in the browser: - polling-rate estimate (click the target, the median event gap snaps to the 7 buckets, 125 to 8000 Hz) - button hold test for chattering (one clean press = 1 event, extras = the chatter signature) - NKRO grid check on 26 keys (hold a whole row, the grid lights what the browser receives) - key-repeat rate (the number your OS setting actually delivers) - scroll step count I'm quite sure it is a sanity check, not a calibration: above ~1000 Hz the browser merges events and the reading plateaus, so for precision the vendor tool wins. Everything runs on your machine, nothing is uploaded and there is no sign-up :) https://appdoesit.com/apps/peripheral-test/ Try it with your current mouse, post the reading and tell me what the spec says :) submitted by /u/paq85 [link] [comments]
