tl;dr — a free, zero-permission browser extension that adds a single button to every GitHub repo page, giving you one-click access to 13 tools for reading, diagramming, editing and running that repo. No copy-pasting the owner/repo into five different sites anymore. The problem Whenever I land on an unfamiliar repo I end up with a dozen tabs: GitDiagram to see the architecture, DeepWiki or Zread to get an AI summary, github1s to read the source in a VS Code-ish view, codespaces to run it, the dependency graph to see what it pulls in… Every one of them wants me to paste owner/repo into a URL. That friction is small but I hit it constantly. What I built RepoWays injects a small button labeled Ways right next to GitHub's own Code button. Click it and a menu drops open with the tools, pre-filled with the exact repo you're on. Each entry just opens in a new tab. Grouped into four sections Structure — GitDiagram · GitHub's dependency graph Read with AI — DeepWiki · Zread · GitReverse · GitMCP · Gitingest Code — github1s · GitHub.dev · Codespaces · StackBlitz Analytics — OSSInsight Design choices I care about Zero permissions. The extension declares no host permissions and no API permissions at all. It doesn't fetch, scrape, or read your repo — it just builds https://service.com/owner/repo links from the page's own URL. Nothing leaves your machine. It looks native. The button borrows GitHub's styling, and the menu reads GitHub's own Primer color variables, so it flips light/dark with the page for free. Free and open source. No Pro tier, no accounts, no telemetry. Built with: WXT + vanilla TypeScript, injected into the page via a content script with a shadow-DOM UI (so the page's CSS can't collide with mine). The fun part was anchoring it so it survives GitHub's Turbo/React SPA re-renders. I'd genuinely love feedback — especially on which tools I should add or drop from the list. Some of these (Zread, DeepWiki) don't index every repo yet, so a long-tail repo can land on an empty page; I'm still deciding whether to keep them.
