Original Summary
Hi r/SideProject ! I take most of my notes by hand on a tablet, and the best features in handwriting apps are usually behind paywalls or locked in their cloud. So I built RejBoard : free, open source (MIT), and fully local. No account, no cloud, no analytics What it does: - Pressure-sensitive handwriting with several pens, highlighters, and a ruler - Sketch-and-snap shapes, connectors, sticky notes, and LaTeX math - PDF annotation, tables with spreadsheet-style formulas, and linked boards - Voice recording while you write, Present mode, and local-network sharing Tech: Electron desktop app (Windows, macOS, Linux) plus an offline-capable web app. Plain HTML/JS. I used Claude and GPT to prototype parts of it, then reviewed and fixed the results myself. Try it in your browser (no install): https://rejwanshafi25.github.io/RejBoard/ Code and downloads: https://github.com/RejwanShafi25/RejBoard 13-minute walkthrough: https://youtu.be/Nu_aj1oBSyU I'd really value honest feedback: bugs, confusing spots, missing features, and translation fixes (it has 22 UI languages). If you try it for five minutes, tell me the first thing that felt off. Thanks! submitted by /u/bdsketch25 [link] [comments]
