Original Summary
I work on growth for VibeSEO. One of its documented tools lets an assistant inspect a domain's backlinks, including individual links and their anchor text. The useful next step isn't automatically “get these links too.” Open a referring page and check why the competitor is there. Is it a supplier directory, a customer story, a comparison, a local association, or an unrelated mention? Then ask whether your business belongs on that page on its own merits. For example, an association directory is only relevant if you genuinely qualify to join. A customer story doesn't become an outreach opportunity just because your competitor has a link in it. A useful output from the assistant would be a short list of pages to inspect, with a reason for each. The owner can then discard anything that doesn't fit the actual business. That's the review I'd put between backlink research and any outreach. A score in a table doesn't establish relevance or give you a reason to contact someone.
