Original Summary

I built Nothing Personal, an offline Mac and Windows app for removing personal data from documents before sharing them with an AI or a colleague. It makes a redacted copy of a whole folder and leaves the originals unchanged. You can give that copy to an AI for a summary or analysis. With Pro, you can then put the real names back into the AI's answer locally. The part I wanted to keep readable is who did what. If a person appears in a Word document, a spreadsheet and an email, they get the same made-up name in all three. Emails, phone numbers, addresses, IDs and bank details are replaced too. Companies, amounts and ordinary business dates stay. It handles PDFs, scans, Office files, email attachments and nested folders. Detection, OCR and replacement run on the computer, with a language model bundled in the app. It writes a separate folder and leaves the originals alone. The first 20 successfully processed documents are free, once. Pro is $149/year or $279 lifetime, for up to three computers. Pro adds custom rules, project-specific stand-ins, an audit report and a way to put real names back into an AI's answer locally.
