I always had small app ideas that no one was ever going to build: a tracker that works the way I think, or a tool for one specific job. So I built AppMama How it works: Type what you want, like “a habit tracker with streaks and a dark home screen widget.” An AI writes the app and your phone builds it. This takes a few minutes, and you can put the phone down while it runs. Tap install. It shows up on your home screen like any other app. Ask for changes in the same chat (“make the buttons bigger”) and install the update. The catch, up front: It uses an AI plan you already have (Claude, ChatGPT or Grok). If you don’t have one, you can start free with OpenRouter’s free models. AppMama has no account, no ads and no subscription, and it doesn’t sell you anything. It needs a fairly recent phone: Android 11+, arm64, about 2 GB free. Simple apps work best. Asking for a whole Instagram in one go won’t.
