Original Summary
The problem: I read mostly from the library, and my Goodreads TBR is huge. The solution: an extension that shows availability and waits on the book page, and checks a whole shelf in one click. Stack: Chrome MV3 extension, a small Node/Hono + SQLite backend, Stripe for the $5/month tier, Google/email sign-in. It's free for 5 checks a day. Where it's at: very early. About 20 accounts so far, around 6 people using it in a given week, and a few dozen checks a month. What's worked is the shelf scan: people who try it tend to run it on their whole TBR. What hasn't: getting it in front of people. Most reading and library communities ban tool posts, so it's been slow. I'm stuck on how to distribute a niche tool like this. If you've launched something for a small audience, where did your first real users come from? https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/library-checker/cifkfcmbfhaaolbppobmmjfddiaponfl submitted by /u/WillingnessThese2077 [link] [comments]
