Original Summary
I recently launched BAAB AI (Business as a Baby), an AI-powered business advisor built around a methodology I developed after my first startup failed. Here’s the backstory. Years ago, while I was in college, I built an app called Chumz. The idea was simple: create a marketplace where college students could buy and resell textbooks directly to each other. I was excited about the idea, but I made a mistake that took me years to fully understand. I was trying to run a baby company like an adult. I was thinking about growth, structure, scaling, and all the things established companies do, without realizing my business wasn’t mature enough for those decisions. After Chumz failed, I started questioning how we approach building businesses. Why do we expect a company that’s just starting out to operate like one that’s been around for 20 years? A baby has to crawl before it walks. It has to develop the capacity to handle different responsibilities as it grows. I realized businesses aren’t that different. That thinking eventually became my Business as a Baby (BAAB) methodology . I spent years developing it, applying it while working with businesses, and eventually wrote a book about it. Fast forward to today, I’ve turned that methodology into BAAB AI. It’s an AI business advisor designed to understand a company’s developmental stage before recommending decisions about growth, hiring, finances, operations, and strategy. The idea isn’t to build another chatbot that gives generic business advice. It’s to help founders avoid making decisions their businesses aren’t ready for. The product is live at https://askbaab.com , and I’m currently looking for founders and small-business owners to test it. I’d love feedback, especially on whether the recommendations actually make sense for your business. It’s been an interesting journey going from building a startup that failed to building a product around the lessons that failure taught me. Curious to hear from other founders here. Has a failed project ever changed the way you approach building something new? submitted by /u/LibrarianNovel7238 [link] [comments]
