Original Summary
Hey everyone, I'm 20 years old, from Rwanda, and I'm trying to find a startup idea I can realistically build with very limited money. I don't have funding, so before spending months developing anything, I want honest feedback from people who understand gaming, startups, or online competitions. Here's my idea. Imagine an online platform inspired by the survival challenges in Squid Game, where people join tournaments and compete through multiple rounds of mini-games. For example, 100 players enter a tournament. They compete in reaction tests, memory games, strategy challenges, obstacle courses, and other skill-based games. Players are eliminated round by round until three winners remain. The first-place winner receives the biggest prize, second place receives less, and third place receives the smallest prize. The business idea: Eventually, tournaments could have entry fees and transparent prize pools, with a clearly disclosed platform fee if legally permitted. I'd also explore free tournaments and sponsor-funded prizes so people could participate without risking money. I'd want the experience to feel intense and competitive, with live leaderboards, player rankings, different tournament formats, and new challenges. I'm not building it yet. I'm trying to figure out whether this is worth pursuing before investing my time in it. I'd genuinely appreciate honest answers to these questions: Would you personally play a game like this? What would make you try it? What would make you keep coming back after losing a tournament? Would you prefer free tournaments with virtual rewards, real-money prize competitions where legally permitted, or both? What would make you trust a platform like this enough to participate? Do you think the idea has real business potential, or are there major problems I'm overlooking? Please be brutally honest. I'm not looking for people to tell me it's a great idea just to encourage me. I'd rather discover the weaknesses now than spend months building something nobody wants. I'm starting with almost no budget, but I'm willing to learn, build a small prototype, and work hard if there's evidence that people genuinely want this. If you were in my position, what would you do first? Thanks for reading. 🙏 submitted by /u/Beginning-Bowl-3486 [link] [comments]
