Original Summary
Hey everyone! A while ago, a friend and I decided we wanted to build something of our own outside our regular jobs. He's a developer, I'm a UX designer, and neither of us had ever launched a product before. We just wanted to see if we could take an idea, actually build it, and get it out into the world. We decided to build appointment scheduling software for small service businesses. Why? Well, it seemed like something the two of us could realistically build alongside our full-time jobs. We also wanted to offer smaller businesses something affordable, simple to use, and with fewer limitations than some of the existing tools. That's how Calenvio started. Along the way, three friends joined us, and suddenly our little side project became a team of five. And two days ago, we finally launched our first product! It's called Calenvio ( https://calenvio.com/ ), and it helps small businesses manage appointments, clients, staff, services, and email reminders in one place. We're very aware that we're entering a market with a ton of established competitors. We're not pretending we've invented something revolutionary. We just wanted to build something useful and hopefully offer a good alternative. We have a clear product roadmap and plenty of ideas for what to build next. But now comes the part we really didn't know much about: getting our first customers. We've spent the last couple of days trying to figure out email outreach, who we can legally contact, how to approach potential customers, and how to actually communicate what we've built. We've also set up Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn pages. We have a younger colleague helping us with marketing, but we're all pretty new to this. It's funny how much time you spend thinking about features, bugs, design, and getting everything ready for launch. And then you finally launch and realize that nobody knows your product exists. So here we are. Five people, our first launched product, zero marketing experience, and a whole new set of challenges ahead. Now we're trying to figure out how to get that very first customer. For those of you who've been through this, what actually worked for you in the beginning? How did you find your first customers when nobody knew who you were? Would love to hear your experiences, especially from people who started with zero audience. Thanks for reading! submitted by /u/Affectionate_Hold684 [link] [comments]
