Original Summary
I’d happily swipe through hundreds of posts a day but struggled to sit with a book, so I tried borrowing the interaction instead of fighting it. Margin lets you swipe through an EPUB like a feed and tap any sentence to react or comment on that exact line in the moment. Other readers’ reactions show up on the same lines, with anything past your reading position hidden to avoid spoilers. That part only gets interesting as people join, so right now the thing I most want feedback on is the solo reading feel. Web app, nothing to install, add to home screen on iPhone Doesn’t host books: bring your own DRM-free EPUB (Gutenberg, Standard Ebooks, your own) There’s a book of the week (Pride and Prejudice right now) with a free EPUB link in the Social tab One-person project, very alpha The question I keep wrestling with: does swiping make reading feel better, or does it just make it feel like another feed? read-margin.app submitted by /u/Chillbill823 [link] [comments]
