Original Summary
Hey everyone! I love my Mac, but some everyday interactions feel oddly unfinished. Files in a Dock stack are right there, yet you can’t right-click them for a proper action menu. Hiding or quitting an app means hunting through a menu. And switching apps doesn’t always get you to the window you actually want. So I built DockThumb , around one idea: point at what you want, press a key, do the thing. My thumb now handles most of the clicking. 👍 Hover + Space: open a Dock stack, peek inside a folder, or open/hide an app. Act on files inside Dock stacks: copy, trash, undo, or right-click for a file action menu. Hover + ⌘Q: quit a Dock app. See the window you’re switching to: an Option+Tab switcher with thumbnails. Arrange your workspace: tile windows or pin one on top. There are more features, but hover + one key is the part that’s been a game changer for me day to day. I keep reaching for it without thinking, then remembering it’s something I had to build. Demo above, more here: https://dockthumb.com Honestly, putting my mouse out of work has been the most satisfying part of this project. 🐭 submitted by /u/HungryCandy5015 [link] [comments]
