Original Summary

Small win for me today. I built The Agora: Learn Philosophy because I’ve always been interested in philosophy, but I hated that feeling of reading something, thinking I understood it, and then realizing I couldn’t actually explain or defend the idea afterward. The whole idea behind The Agora is to make philosophy something you actually participate in. You can learn the foundations, explore different philosophers and ideas, reflect on questions, and then test your understanding through discussions and debates. It started much more as a debate app, but over time it’s grown into what I originally wanted for myself: a place where someone who knows almost nothing about philosophy can start learning and actually engage with the ideas instead of just consuming them. My goal isn’t to replace books or original texts. I want to bridge the gap between “I read this” and “I actually understand this.” It’s been live on iOS for a while, and after a much longer journey with Google Play than I expected, the Android version is finally live too. iOS: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/the-agora-learn-philosophy/id6762416967 Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bhernaurd.theagora Would love to hear what you think if you try it. submitted by /u/23Windy1City33 [link] [comments]
