Original Summary
I've been talking to founders at small B2B SaaS companies (roughly 10–50 people) and one thing keeps coming up: security questionnaires. The pattern I keep hearing: A deal is close, and then a 200–300 row spreadsheet arrives (SIG, CAIQ, HECVAT, or the buyer's own format). Nobody owns it, so it lands on the CTO or a founder. It takes anywhere from a full day to two weeks, and the deal sits waiting. Half the questions were answered on the last questionnaire, but in a different wording, in a different file. Tools like Loopio and Responsive exist, but people say they're priced and built for companies with a dedicated proposal or security team. I'm trying to understand how common this is before I decide whether it's worth working on. For anyone selling B2B: How many security questionnaires did you get last quarter? Who fills them out, and how long does the last one take? Has one ever delayed or killed a deal? What do you do now? A Google Doc of past answers, ChatGPT, a paid tool, or something else? I'm not selling anything. I want to know whether this is a real recurring pain or something people deal with twice a year and move on. submitted by /u/Naruka102312 [link] [comments]
