Original Summary
Solo dev. Just launched Idle on Product Hunt today. Most screen time apps use force-blocking and streaks. I tried the opposite. My logic: a locked screen is just a temporary wall. It doesn't fix the habit. And streaks just make me anxious about losing a number. So I built this: A counter for the time you take back. It never goes down. A lock screen card that shows your time without opening the app. One companion. No feeds, no likes. Just someone on the same path. Lamps. You get three a day. If they put their phone down, you can light yours back. Anonymous notes. Leave a sentence for a stranger. They might leave one for you. Four practices: awareness, attention, perception, memory. Six stages: Wanderer to Returner. Not points, just names. No ads, no tracking. Everything runs on your phone. Does this logic actually make sense? Is a habit app without hard locks or streak mechanics just a waste of time? Let me know. submitted by /u/screen_unscroll [link] [comments]
